Paper Mill Scheme at Partington Wharfside - January 2010
Land Law LLP's Andrea Lawrence, Helen Davidson and Diana Craven acted for the Peel Group on the Spanish paper and packaging group SAICA's £290m recycled paper mill scheme at Partington Wharfside in Trafford. SAICA worked with the British Embassy in Spain, UK Trade and Investment, the North West Development Agency and Trafford Metropolitan Borough Council to put the scheme together. The NWDA's chief executive, Steven Broomhead, said that the announcement that a start on site had begun was the culmination of more than two years of negotiations. "I am delighted that this work has resulted in a major investment in Trafford," he said. "It is a great start to 2010 with one of the world's most advanced recycled paper mills being built here in the Northwest, creating over 200 jobs."
