Gwyneth Heritage acted for Hollins Murray Group in their acquisition of the 12,000 sq ft Winstanley Shopping Centre in Wigan, with tenants including the Co-operative and Boots. HMG acquired the asset for an undisclosed sum using cash resources. Winstanley joins the Gerard Centre, Wigan and West Heath Shopping Centre, Congleton in HMG's portfolio.
Land Law acted for Silver Street Holdings which has completed the sale of 1 Yates Street in Oldham to the Oldham Unit of the Sea Cadets. The Sea Cadets have relocated from their former Derker Annex premises, which have been the subject of a CPO by Oldham Council as part of the Government's controversial pathfinder housing scheme. The transaction also involved a restructure of Silver Street Holdings' head lease of the building with landlord Oldham Council to pave the way for the Sea Cadet's use of the Property.
On Saturday 26 November Andrew Stone of Land Law competed in 'Dancing Strictly', a charity dance event based on Strictly Come Dancing. Andrew, an experienced dancer, competed with a novice partner against 9 other couples to raise money for various local charities, including the Christie Charitable Fund. Andrew and his partner won the event, which raised over £20,000.
Nicholas Illyr Pride has joined Land Law LLP having previously worked for DLA Piper in Sheffield and specialises in property litigation.
